Fractus Antennas launches a 5G Mobile IoT tiny antenna

21 Feb 2019 News

The Fractus Antennas Team is pleased to announce the new DUO mXTENDTM: the tiny antenna booster that enables full 5G connectivity and does not require further clearance area than its reduced footprint.

The new miniature, multi-port antenna booster by Fractus Antennas (NN) delivers high-speed connectivity at 5G (3400-3800 MHz) and owing to the dual port configuration it can be used at both, at the PCB corner or at the center edge of the board device, both positions working with optimum performance.

Doesn’t matter the size or form factor of the wireless device, DUO mXTENDTMfits in about all of them because is tiny, only 7.0 x 3.0 x 2.0 mm. and can be assembled into the PCB both at the corner or at the center edge of your board device, both with optimum performance, giving the designer freedom for allocating the other electronic components, therefore, is an ideal component for flexibility embedding 5G into any wireless device.

The new antenna booster is ideal to easily upgrade any product to 5G.

Virtual Antenna™ joins Nordic Semiconductor at MWC19

14 Feb 2019 Events

Virtual Antenna™ joins Nordic Semiconductor at the Mobile World Congress with a demo of the new Thingy:91 that uses the modularmultiband and multiport TRIO mXTEND™ chip antenna component for IoT devices, combining LTE-M, NB-IoT, and GPS.

The new Thingy:91 is a reference design by Nordic Semiconductor for smart tracking applications and it incorporates both Cellular and GPS in the same antenna while providing worldwide IoTconnectivity from 700 MHz up to 2170 MHz in a miniature platform.

Nordic Semiconductor and Virtual Antenna™ are at the Mobile World Congress this February (Booth 5F41 hall 5) where any visitor can assist to a live demo. The live demo with Thingy:91, embedding the TRIO mXTEND™, allows a shorter path to wireless IoT with Nordic Semiconductor and Fractus Antennas (NN).
