The Challenge

Eview GPS set out to create the EV-12, a personal emergency pendant combining GNSS tracking and LoRa communication in an ultra-compact, fully sealed design. Fitting multiple radios into a 53 × 30 mm PCB while maintaining strong signal performance proved challenging. The team needed a solution that could ensure reliable connectivity across Europe, the US, and Australia—without compromising battery life or increasing the device size.

The Solution

Collaborating with Ignion, Eview GPS integrated the DUO mXTEND™ antenna for GNSS and the ONE mXTEND™ antenna for LoRa. This configuration enabled accurate satellite positioning and long-range communication in a sleek, IP67-rated enclosure. Ignion’s engineering experts optimized impedance matching and antenna placement, eliminating the need for external antennas and supporting seamless global deployment.

The Benefits

  • Robust GNSS and LoRa performance for real-time emergency tracking

  • Extended battery life, critical for outdoor safety

  • Multi-band compliance across key regional frequencies without hardware redesign

  • Simplified assembly with a fully sealed, lightweight design
